So this is the FIRST time we have had one of these in our care.  Griswold's FIRST line of holloware was the "Erie" brand, made from 1890 to approx 1905.  The skillets they made are the most collectible series we see, and from time to time we come across a Dutch Oven, Round Griddle or Long Griddle.  However this one....the flat bottom #6 is one that you don't come across often.

This piece is a fantastic unique alternative to the dutch oven.  The flat bottom kettles were made in sizes 6 through 9 and they are amazing to use for soups and stews.  Very unique gift for someone that is a collector or someone special that loves to cook.

IMPORTANT: It‘s in wonderful shape except in a previous life someone had left water in the basin for an extended period which caused some pitting. It has been fully restored and all rust is gone now. It‘s been seasoned as per usual so the rust will not continue unless its neglected again.
