Restoration quality · ready to cookGriswold made some amazing cookware, AND some amazingly helpful tools for the kitchen. From ice shavers, grates, serving bowls and even sewing thimbles , Griswold was the leader in creative cast pieces. This is a #849 cast iron, size 9 chromed steak platter. We acquired a set of these from a long time collector and we are selling all of them. The steak platters saw their service time and most (like the enameled pieces) have a wear and tear to them. It's very hard to find one that has no wear to them. So when we get them, we clean them like usual, and then fire them up with our seasoning, leaving a variegated look to them similar to the skillets. You can buff them to a high shine if desired but we have not done this. We just seal them to protect the black iron from rust. They are great for serving anything on the dining room table. What a cool gift idea for the cast iron enthusiast
DISCLAIMER: We have prepared this piece to be ready to use or displayed in a collection. All pieces are vintage, and therefore are not in perfect condition. Their history of use means small marks and inconsistencies, including residual carbon, which we feel give them a special charm. All items are sold as is, and we have done our best to present them as such. Please review all pictures and ask for further clarification if needed. Thank you! - Cast & Clara Bell
