If you want a skillet that lives in rarified air, this would be one of them. Griswold made Erie skillets are the earliest versions of the brand, made in the late 1890‘s. This is the VERY FIRST series made by Griswold in the 1890‘s. Early makers made their skillets by hand, and the very first Erie skillets were known by their "scoop" style handle and no catalog number on the skillet reverse. These skillets are the lightest we‘ve held, and are a pleasure to work with. HIGHLY recommended!
Note: It does NOT sit flat. It spins when prompted so glass or induction will be more challenging. Best for gas and electric coil. We used it after first seasoning to test it out and it performed beautifully. There are some pattern shifts that are visible on the bottom, which is typical of these very early skillets.

from 384 reviewsGreat skillet. Nice shape and I love the history of the foundry. lighter than my #6 Field. Pleasure doing buisness.
So excited to receive the Griswold Deep Fat Fryer! It was packaged great and arrived quickly. It was seasoned to start using today. I will shop with Cast and Clara Bell in the future. 100%
It’s pretty much exactly what I expected.
Not perfectly cut, but a repurposed old number seven Griswold pan turned into a perfect utensil for me to use on my grill.
Awesome, unique, and great for the grill!
I love the flop griddle. I been looking for one a long time. I intend to use it this winter when I start cooking on my wood burning cook stove.
This pan is fabulous. From the first egg, no sticking at all (as long as you don’t overheat the skillet first!) Near mint condition and beautifully restored. If you are looking for the perfect fried egg, you’ve found your vessel. This is my second griswold from these folks, and I will keep coming back as they do a really terrific job.
Wonderful piece. In great shape and ready to cook in
It’s absolutely gorgeous!…ready to cook in. I’m excited
Beautiful #8 Griswold skillet. Outstanding restoration and prep work. Easy ordering and payment, and fast shipping. Great people !
Excellent. Product as described. Cast iron expertly packed for shipping. Nice to think of all of the happy people this 1920’s waffle iron has fed over the generations. Incredibly ingenuitive for the time.
I could not be happier with my purchase! I have looked for the “perfect” O’Brien & O’Brien skillet to represent my O’Brien family in my new home, and this is it! I couldn’t believe it arrived on the same day that we received our certificate of occupancy. It is now in its place on our wood stove!
It is beautifully restored, and the handrwritten note from the owners made me so pleased to have purchased from Cast & Clara Bell. This may be the first of many purchases😉.
Son-in-law very happy with his new spatula!
