IMPORTANT: We had a mishap when cleaning this piece and the lid was chipped on the right ear flap of the lid. There are no cracks or damage besides what you see is a missing ear cover. We debated on selling the piece without the lid but to be honest, its often that folks just want a really nice piece that‘s slightly damaged for a great price, OR may want it for the skillet and not the lid. Either way, we have sold this combination for $595 so we are listing it at $425 for the missing chip on the ear. Other than that, this piece is gorgeous.

"What makes a piece more expensive than the other?", is a question we get just as much as we are asked "can you really cook in these or not?". The answer to the former is, because of demand, quality of the piece, and rarity. The answer to the latter is, ABSOLUTELY! The Griswold products are the clear leader in vintage and antique cast iron cookware for demand, and some of the most prized pieces are the hammered finished pieces.
The finish is gorgeous on the outside and under the lid. Near MINT condition with the exception of the chipped off lid ear. It sits perfectly flat so its great for stove top and for the oven. The hinged lid is solid and firm when propped open, but it can be easily removed and put back in place.
We don‘t see these very often, let alone have one for sale. It‘s a gorgeous piece that will stand out and wow anyone joining you for dinner or at a social gathering. The hammered pieces are some of the most prized for a good reason so take advantage of this opportunity! It will not be for sale very long!
DISCLAIMER: We have prepared this piece to be ready to use or displayed in a collection. All pieces are vintage, and therefore are not in perfect condition. Their history of use means small marks and inconsistencies, including residual carbon, which we feel give them a special charm. All items are sold as is, and we have done our best to present them as such. Please review all pictures and ask for further clarification if needed. Thank you! - Cast & Clara Bell
