Why is it priced to sell?  This waffle iron was brought to us from Illinois from a family sale. The tall bases are perfect for any cook surface especially gas! We thought originally the piece was "japanned", which was a protective black coating. But usually electrolysis cleans most of that old coating off.  After electrolysis didn't do a thing for the coating, we realized that the piece had been permanently powder coated at some point. So we can't fully restore it and we are not experts in powder coating.  Nothing really wrong with it per se, but because we can't restore it, this piece is being sold in as found condition.
