Oh my. HTF 1930's Hammered finish Griswold No. 5 Hinged Cast Iron Skillet 2015
"What makes a piece more expensive than the other?", is a question we get just as much as we are asked "can you really cook in these or not?". The answer to the former is, because of demand, quality of the piece, and rarity. The answer to the latter is, ABSOLUTELY! The Griswold products are the clear leader in vintage and antique cast iron cookware for demand, and some of the most prized pieces are the hammered finished pieces. The finish is gorgeous and this skillet/lid set is in near perfect condition. It does not sit flat on glass so be aware that while it will work on glass or induction, it may vary heating ability. Best for gas or electric coil. Hammered lid is not included in this listing.
We donβt see these very often, and they sell pretty fast. There were only a few pieces in the hammered set, including a dutch oven, a deep skillet, a #5 and #3 skillet, a popover, waffle iron and a cornbread pan. They arenβt easy to find! Itβs a gorgeous piece that will stand out and wow anyone joining you for dinner or at a social gathering. The hammered pieces are some of the most prized for a good reason so take advantage of this opportunity! It will not be for sale very long!
DISCLAIMER: We have prepared this piece to be ready to use or displayed in a collection. All pieces are vintage, and therefore are not in perfect condition. Their history of use means small marks and inconsistencies, including residual carbon, which we feel give them a special charm. All items are sold as is, and we have done our best to present them as such. Please review all pictures and ask for further clarification if needed. Thank you! - Cast & Clara Bell
