Have you purchased a Best Made #8 skillet and find that you need a lid? You're not alone, because any cast iron collector knows that the lids are the most difficult things to find! Some say it's because they were donated during the war efforts in the 40's, others say it's because they're simply easy to break! But all agree that when you find one you hold on to it. This skillet lid is in very good shape We used electrolysis to eliminate any old debris and then rebuilt it with 3 rounds of our oil seasoning.
Best Made brand was one of Griswold's "Off Brand" lines (ex. Victor, Good Health, Puritan, etc...) that were sold in department stores in the mid 1900's. Tough to find treasure for your tough to find skillet!
