The "Best Made" like of holloware was made by Griswold back in the 30's and 40's on behalf of Sears and Roebuck department stores. Department stores were a recent phenomenon in the 30's where you could "one stop shop" anything from hardware to appliances, to tires. The idea of a convenient and comfortable place to shop was a part of the American lifestyle.
This Best Made waffle iron, with MATCHING base is fully restored and ready to use. The base of the iron had some pitting on it when we stripped it down. So after thoroughly cleaning all traces of rust, we seasoned it back to life. Its a wonderful piece and an uncommon one to have!
