This piece has a cool back story because we almost never had this piece. As beautiful as it is now, it had forgotten about about six months ago... We were out visiting family in central PA and stopped over at a roadside barn to see what they had around. It was a rainy day and he walked right past this lid on top of a pot that was in the mud. After looking a second time, we found this Griswold #8 Safety Kettle. Safety kettles were made to hold pressurized cooking, and accompanied a lit that snapped on. We don't have the lid, but you can have one of these special pots for your own!
Using electrolysis to clean and then re-season three times, it is ready for you to make hardy soups on the campfire, or to use in your gourmet kitchen. It has some residual pitting inside but its perfect for cooking and for displaying.
- DISCLAIMER: We have prepared this piece to be ready to use or displayed in a collection. All pieces are vintage and therefore are not in perfect condition. Please use the photos as description. History of use means these pieces will have small marks and inconsistencies which we feel give them special charm. All items are sold as is and we have done our best to present them as such. Please review all pictures and ask for further clarification if needed. Thank you! - CastandClaraBell
