Handmade Sycamore Grill Scraper - Molds to your Grill Grates!
ABOUT THIS PIECE....
NEW!! Handmade Sycamore Grill Scraper
This handmade grill scraper is built for the outdoor cook who wants a tool that actually works with their grill rather than against it. It starts as a solid block of durable sycamore, and from the very first use it begins to conform to the unique channels and grates of your grill, creating a custom fit that gets better every time you use it. Over time it becomes your scraper, shaped by your grill, worn in exactly the way a great tool should be.
The scraper works by pressing firmly along your grill grates and letting the wood do what wood does naturally. As it heats and moves across the surface, it carves grooves that mirror your grill's exact pattern. That means it runs smoothly and cleanly along every channel without skipping or catching, pulling residue and buildup with it as it goes. No bristles. No metal. No risk of wire fragments breaking loose and ending up in your food.
That last point matters more than most people realize. Metal bristle grill brushes have been pulled from shelves and flagged by safety organizations for years because the bristles break off and can end up lodged in food without anyone noticing. Sycamore scrapers have become the trusted alternative, and you will find versions of them at big box retailers across the country. What you will not find at those stores is one that is 100 percent handmade from a single block of quality hardwood by a craftsman who takes the time to get it right.
Sycamore is chosen for this application specifically because of its density and durability. It holds up to high heat, repeated use, and the natural wear that comes from working against cast iron grates and stainless steel surfaces. This is not a tool that softens or splinters with regular outdoor use. It is built to last season after season.
This is not a mass produced kitchen accessory. Each scraper is individually made by hand, so slight variations in grain, color, shape, and dimension should be expected. Those small differences are part of what make each piece unique.

Care Instructions
After each use, allow the scraper to cool completely before storing. Because this tool is designed to be used on a hot grill, standard food safe oil conditioning is not necessary the way it is for kitchen utensils. However, if you choose to condition it between seasons or after extended storage, a light coat of food safe mineral oil will help maintain the wood. Do not soak in water or leave exposed to the elements for extended periods. Store in a dry location when not in use.
If you notice slight roughness developing on the surface over time, that is the natural character of the wood responding to heat and moisture cycles. A light pass with high grit sandpaper such as 600 to 1000 grit will smooth it back out without affecting the formed groove pattern on the working surface.

A Note About Handmade Products
Because each Husted Home product is handmade from natural salvaged wood, no two pieces will be exactly alike. Wood grain, color, dimensions, finish tone, and small details may vary slightly from piece to piece. These natural variations are not defects. They are part of the character and beauty of handmade wooden kitchen tools.
Please review all photos carefully before purchasing. We do our best to represent each item accurately, but color and tone may vary slightly based on lighting, photography, screen settings, and the natural grain of the wood.
