Griswold #5 Oval Roaster Trivet. Cleaned lightly see desc. #A485T, Aluminum trivet. Perfect for either cast iron or aluminum roasters
The Griswold trivets were made in both cast iron and aluminum and in oval and round shapes. This one is made of aluminum so it is cleaned slightly differently. We soak aluminum pieces in a oxalic soak (oxalic acid is found in potatos, rhubarb leaves, etc...) and that breaks off all the years of buildup. We then scrub it, but there are imperfections from casting and use as you‘ll see in pictures. We are not experts in aluminum so they are purchased at your discretion and you may opt to clean it further. Please ask any questions about condition, as it is not in perfect condition. Its also important to note that because trivets crack so easily, these are in the hard to find category so its a perfect substitute for a cast iron roaster trivet!
Trivets serve as two helpers, first as a separator between proteins and the bottom of the pot in cooking, and then also as a table top spacer between the pot and the table. No cracks or issues with this trivet. Perfect for slow cooking meats without sticking to the bottom!
