Skillet History: The 1st Series‘ Erie skillets were made by Griswold in the early 1890‘s and are some of the most valuable skillets to own. A first series is a rarer skillet to find, so when we received this piece and found the crack, we were heartbroken. This sat on a shelf for almost two years because we hadn‘t yet begun making spatulas. It had some sulfur pitting as well that has been fully restored. Now that it‘s done, it‘s a masterpiece once again. Just look at the pics and I wont need to convince you why. If you think that Erie cast iron skillets are special...you need one of these! Just an amazing piece to have an use on the grill. You will LOVE THIS one.

It’s pretty much exactly what I expected.
Not perfectly cut, but a repurposed old number seven Griswold pan turned into a perfect utensil for me to use on my grill.

This pan is fabulous. From the first egg, no sticking at all (as long as you don’t overheat the skillet first!) Near mint condition and beautifully restored. If you are looking for the perfect fried egg, you’ve found your vessel.This is my second griswold from these folks, and I will keep coming back as they do a really terrific job.
