If you‘re a collector or area history buff, and you haven‘t tried cooking with a pan made by Chicago Hardware Foundry, you are missing out! CHF has just about the coolest story we‘ve come across in our education in cast iron cookware. They were only around for a brief period of time and in the depression era, they were ultimately closed down after a complete loss from a fire, believed to be set by protesting workers on strike. The name Chicago Hardware would continue on, but the pans made during these years, the diamond pattern logo are the earliest of the series‘. Thanks for looking!
This griddle is a hammered plated piece with some scratching in one location. We wish whoever it was that thought it would be a good idea would have known not to do that, but oh well.. In order to preserve the integrity of the piece‘s finish, we did not season the piece more than one round. This is being sold as is.
