This is a wonderfully preserved, 1870‘s era skillet griddle! It was caked on with what looked like generations of cooking, and after it came out to be finished we were blown away. Gate-marking on the bottom of the pan dates the piece prior to 1905 as casting practices improved generally past that point in time. The handle is reminiscent of Highland Foundry‘s fancy handles so its most likely Massachusetts made. The heat ring is in immaculate condition, as is the original swirling that you see on the surface of the pan. The handle sits comfortably in your hand, which is important when using this piece in your gourmet kitchen. It‘s raised "9" design on the vented handle will make for a gorgeous display piece between meals and its flat balanced bottom will not disappoint during use.

After going back and forth between a brand new cast iron skillet and a vintage piece, I finally decided on a Wagner from Cast and Clara Bell. I love the skillet. It’s a beautiful piece. It shipped quickly and arrived packed so securely. I absolutely cannot wait to use it daily and have a quality piece I can hand down to my daughter someday. I will definitely be purchasing more.

I bought a number seven Griswold pan, when I received it, it was well packaged and in great condition.
I gave it an additional two seasonings with grapeseed oil, and this thing is better than a Teflon pan as far as nonstick goes. I have several cast-iron pans, and this one is my favorite. Thanks to the casting Clara team for doing great work. I added a number seven lead that I already had to it.
