IMPORTANT:Β This waffle iron is almost perfect except for some sulfur pitting on the outside of the one paddle.Β All others are perfect condition.Β We have discounted this down as a result.Β The handles have customary wear and tear from its age, showing again some use over a sulfur fire.Β The natural wood had darkened from use so we restored them with a black paint to match the japanned base.Β Japanning was a process of painting the bases of some waffle irons.Β The process created a deep finish.Β This one was still in very good shape which is rare for these pieces so we kept the base as close to original as possible.Β
About Hotel Waffle Irons.Β Wow.Β They broke the mold when they made this one.Β Both Wagner and Griswold made a few styles and sizes of these "hotel" waffle irons.Β They were intended for producing a higher volume of waffles for either customers at a buffet, or just for a hungry family.Β These are very hard to find these days and they sell quickly.Β Β You can make six playing card size waffles with both paddles so they are great for family cooking at home!Β See our FAQ's on cooking waffles for tips and tricks!Β Β
