The "Best Made" like of holloware was made by Griswold back in the 30's and 40's on behalf of Sears and Roebuck department stores. Department stores were a recent phenomenon in the 30's where you could "one stop shop" anything from hardware to appliances, to tires. The idea of a convenient and comfortable place to shop was a part of the American lifestyle.
This Best Made waffle iron, with MATCHING tall base is fully restored and ready to use. The base of the iron was originally finished with what is referred to as "Japanning". Japanning is a heavy black paint, similar to enamel so its tough to remove. When it was new, japanning would have a glossy sheen to it. We tried to keep some in tact because we feel it adds to the story of the piece. Its a wonderful piece and an uncommon one to have!

I picked up two pieces of Griswold cast iron specifically for breakfast dishes for myself. Couldn’t be more pleased with the seasoning and quality of the pieces and how accurate the item descriptions were. Not to mention the prices were exceptional for the quality. After going back and forth between a brand new cast iron skillet and a vintage piece, I finally decided on a Wagner from Cast and Clara Bell. I love the skillet. It’s a beautiful piece. It shipped quickly and arrived packed so securely. I absolutely cannot wait to use it daily and have a quality piece I can hand down to my daughter someday. I will definitely be purchasing more.
I’ve bought 5 pieces from Cast and Clarabell and show them off to anyone that will give me the time of day. They are all heirloom pieces that I expect my grandchildren to brag about like I brag about my grandmother’s skillet I have.
I bought a number seven Griswold pan, when I received it, it was well packaged and in great condition.
I gave it an additional two seasonings with grapeseed oil, and this thing is better than a Teflon pan as far as nonstick goes. I have several cast-iron pans, and this one is my favorite. Thanks to the casting Clara team for doing great work. I added a number seven lead that I already had to it.

Amazing piece of cast iron. Amazing restoration work by the Seller. The pan looks better than it did 120 years ago when it was made!! So impressed by this piece of cookware. My kids will be getting this beauty when my wife and I are dead and gone.

Absolutely beautiful piece. Restored to perfection. This is my new daily pan, better than my modern lodge! I ordered 3 different pans, and the packaging was perfect. Everything arrived safe and sound. Antique/vintage iron makes all the difference!! It's worth the investment. These pans will forever be a part of my kitchen, never going back to modern pans.

Exactly as I imagined it, the pan I got was 9” but light for cast iron. It had an incredible finish and I can already tell I’m going to be using it everyday. The restoration job is amazing, it is way nicer than any cast iron pan I’ve seen to date, and I grew up with my family grew up using cast iron. Thank you for the effort it took to get such a smooth finish, I’m sure it was a lot for how nice this is. What an incredible find!
