What a COOL novelty! Rare Dixie Mfg and Co. Dixie Dog cornbread waffle iron!
Every now and then we come across an item that we can find very little information on. The Frimaster Griddle comes to mind, where it was made in our hometown, but we can't find a stitch of info on the company that made them! This is one of those items as well.
What a cool corn dog waffle iron to have! This piece came to us for a full restoration and we tried to keep as much of the original japanning on it that we could. The paddles and base are in great condition, and have a LOT of life in them. The base reminds us of a Wagner style square iron, and the handles have coil coils. We were super happy with the result, it is a beautiful character piece to have in your gourmet kitchen.
We bet it would be a fun project to make corndogs or just a traditional cornbread "corn pone" dessert. Possibly sausage links and pancake batter! Very cool and unique piece to own!
