π οΈ Buying Tips
- New to Dutch ovens? Start with a Size 8. It's the most available, the most versatile, and the best daily cooker in vintage cast iron.
- Cooking for a crowd? Sizes 9β10 give you plenty of room for roasts, big pots of chili, or soups that serve a family.
- Looking to collect? Sizes 6, 11, and 12 are rare finds β especially from makers like Griswold and Wagner. When they show up, they go fast.
- Glass cooktop? Look for listings marked "sits flat" β flat-bottomed Dutch ovens work best on glass and smooth-top ranges.
- What's the difference between a Dutch oven and a roaster? Many of our pieces are round roasters with lids β they function exactly like a Dutch oven and are tagged accordingly.
