This piece was previously used by us at home after it was restored. We are selling it now as we have replaced it with a slightly older "Erie" version. Fully restored after we decided to sell it. This Oval Roaster is beautiful and hard to find. Made in the roaring 20‘s, this oval number five roaster is the epitome of elegance in cast iron cooking. It‘s a working work of art, with the unmarked 2630 Lid, and the iconic Griswold #645 large block logo on the bottom.
IMPORTANT: It is priced to sell because the previous owner must have dropped it because it came to us repaired and solid. See the pics of the handle where a brazed weld was placed to shore it up. It has blended well and will continue to blend as you use it! It does not sit flat but to date we have not found one that actually did sit flat. Of course in your oven, there‘s no need for it to sit flat!
This pot deserves a kitchen full of laughter, good food and an appreciation of its history and age. Don‘t miss out before it‘s gone.
