If you want a skillet that lives in rarified air, this would be one of them. Griswold made Erie skillets are the earliest versions of the brand, made in the late 1890's. This is the very FIRST series made by Griswold in the 1890's. Early makers made their skillets by hand, and the very first Erie skillets were known by their "scoop" style handle and no catalog number on the skillet reverse. These skillets are the lightest we've held, and are a pleasure to work with. HIGHLY recommended!

Note: It does NOT sit flat. It spins when prompted so glass or induction will be tough to work with. Best for gas and electric coil. We used it after first seasoning to test it out and it performed beautifully. There are some pattern shifts that are visible on the bottom, which is typical of these very early skillets. All in all, while this isn't in mint condition, it is a wonderful USER and antique masterpiece for your gourmet kitchen. Enjoy!
