IMPORTANT: This fish fryer was used in a high heat scenario at some point and has a red hue to it. Why? When iron is exposed to very high heat (like being placed in a fire) it turns red permanently. It was a very common practice for folks to clean their iron by incinerating all remnants of food on it by placing it in a fire. So this is no longer a collector piece but more of a daily user. It deserves a new home or camp to love it. We don't want you to put in IN the fire, but over a fire!
You will LOVE owning this square handled, first series Sportsman's Shallow Fish Fryer (c/n 3052)! Circa 1930's, this early Birmingham Stove and Range shallow fish fryer is an amazing essential to your cast iron collection. Versatile to be able to bake casseroles, fry or use as a stove top stand in, the square handles were used by BSR early on in the first and second series, and in later versions were converted to the rounded handles.
We don't get these all that often so take advantage of it while its available! Of course it has been stripped fully and seasoned three times in our oil blend so its ready for you to use right away!
