IMPORTANT: This piece is quite possibly close to 150 years old and has been used over time. There are pitting marks from sulfur (wood fire cooking) which is very common from this era. Please see pictures for full condition.
Stuart Peterson & Co was based in Philadelphia PA in the 1800's and manufactured a good number of kettles and bulge pots. There are some skillets around but not many we have seen. The other item that they made was this pancake "flop" griddle. Flop griddles have become very popular because of their unique engineered flip style for making pancakes, but also because they are tough to find.
SP & Co. made both side gate and bottom gate marked pieces, and the latter more earlier version had just the raised lettering you see here. Later pieces featured the name on a second pancake bump out. They are amazing pieces to have and a fantastic unique piece for a special person in your life.
