Wagner Cast Iron, made in Sidney Ohio, was known for their amazingly light and smooth cast iron cookware, and this unique whistle top dutch oven is a great example! It's an early version of the company's dutch oven line, where the Wagner Ware stylized logo had not yet been implemented. Collectors know that Wagner's vintage CI is amazing to use, and the earliest versions are fantastic for everyday use. This piece has been stripped using a lye bath and electrolysis and seasoned 3 times with a grape seed and Crisco blend. Ready to use!
Note: This dutch does not sit flat like so many others of this time. Most dutch ovens are not flat, which is a slight issue on the cooktop, but never a problem in the oven! Otherwise there are no cracks pitting or damage in any kind. beautiful piece!
