WOW!!

This very early Griswold Erie Griddle "Skillet" is a versatile piece of historical cookware for your gourmet kitchen. This griddle was a part of a collection in northern PA. The collector built most of their collections in the 1970‘s, but then kept many of them in his garage for decades. They‘ve now been brought back into circulation and this one is a great one to have.
The pan has been cleaned via Electrolysis and has been seasoned three times with our cast iron conditioning balm. It had an even amount of micro pitting across the bottom surface, suggesting that it had been used regularly over an old wood stove, creating a natural sulfur pitting. The interior surface has a very light micro pitting to it that was likely from being in a damp environment at one point. This was used by us for a few years because we loved how flat it is and how versatile it is in our kitchen but our time using it is done and we're now putting it for sale. We use ours everyday for a quick grilled cheese or egg omelets. Awesome utility pan that sits flat on a cook surface so perfect for all types.

Griswold made what we believe are some of the finest skillet griddles because they have a good balance of thickness but are still very lightweight. A skillet griddle is different than a griddle because it has the raised lip interior and it prevents spills from things like bacon. It also is not thick-walled like a skillet and therefore is very light and easy to work with. The three-bolt style is a very unique one that Griswold eventually abandoned to go with the teardrop handle style about a decade later.

DISCLAIMER: We have prepared this piece to be ready to use or displayed in a collection. All pieces are vintage, and therefore are not in perfect condition. Their history of use means small marks and inconsistencies, including residual carbon, which we feel give them a special charm. All items are sold as is, and we have done our best to present them as such. Please review all pictures and ask for further clarification if needed.
